Pacific Rim Cuisine Meets French Flair at V Restaurant //Sofitel Fiji

The venue’s interior is both classy and inviting and the serene view overlooking a sprawling pond of flowering water lilies is a real delight. V Restaurant has a grand reputation as one of the very best restaurants Fiji. Book in, dress up and dine out. You’re in for a real treat!

We certainly recommend ordering a few starters to share, that way you have the chance to sample many of V Restaurants haute cuisine creations. Seafood fans will love the entrée of ‘Seared Scallops with Cauliflower Puree, pickled local Ota Fern, Shaved Pancetta, Coconut, Cauliflower Couscous and a superb Raisin and Caper Vinaigrette’ and the outstanding ‘Citrus infused Crab Tortellini with a Brunoises of Veggies, Lobster Foam, Parmesan Crumble, and Sauté Bush Fern and a Chowder Sauce’.

Warning; deciding on a main course will be tricky. Such is the temptation of each and every dish on the menu. If steak night is your idea of good time, then you’re in the right place. V Restaurant does an amazing ‘Seared Wagyu fillet with a Treacle and Hickory Confit Rib, Coffee and Spice pulled Beef Cheek Pithivier served with Truffle Mash, Sprouts, Pancetta Lardons, Baby Beetroot, Asparagus and a Fried Caper Berry and Onion Soubise’. Yes, reading the dishes ingredients should have you salivating. Well, wait for the tasting!

Another popular main dish is the ‘Coconut Laksa of Local Seafood, including Snapper, Prawns, Baby crayfish and Green Lip Mussels bathed in Citrus Noodles and a Spicy Coconut Broth’. This meal is a true star in that it delicately balances the fresh seafood flavours with the aromatic laksa spice blend. Delivering a contented without being overfull feeling. An excellent choice on a balmy tropical Fijian evening.

For a top example of V Restaurants precise and exciting cooking techniques order the ‘Pan Fried Lamb Rump stuffed with Blackberry and Pistachio and wrapped in Pancetta, served with Potato cream, Baked Celeriac Puree, Balsamic Shallots, Saffron Grilled Fennel, Sugar Snaps and a Chambord Liquor jus’. This is a meal you’ll no doubt be fantasizing about forever more.

V Restaurant is under the helm of Executive Chef Adam Roberts. Mr. Roberts possesses an incredible talent and an all-pervading passion for the industry. An evening spent dining at V Restaurant is testament to his creative cooking flair and his joy at seeing the looks on people’s faces when food brings them together. Each and every staff member at V conducts themselves with a professional manner and friendly ‘can do’ attitude. Its sharp service with a beaming Fijian smile.  The entire V team is visibly proud to showcase the best of local gastronomy and traditional French culinary art.

Before wrapping up a wonderful evening at V, don’t overlook the restaurant’s clever selection of desserts and savant collection of fine wines. The deconstructed cheese cake of Fijian vanilla and lime cream mousse with lemon meringue and raspberry jelly is absolutely spot on. Pair it with a glass of Frangelico on ice with a squeeze of fresh bush lime for a terrific finish to a most satisfying meal.

V Restaurant is a ‘must visit’ for anyone interested in food that excels above and beyond the standard dining scene. It’s always a pleasure to discover (or re-discover) a venue that is as accomplished and pleasurable as V is.
