Fiji Holiday Highlights

Gosh there’s heaps to do here at the luxury InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort & Spa, favourites include; diving Fiji’s pristine coral reefs, teeing off at Natadola Bay’s 18-hole championship golf course, the resorts four swimming pools, surfing directly out front or boating it out to the famed Cloudbreak wave for the day and the stylishly cool outdoor bars – ideal for star gazing. Magnificent!

InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort & Spa - Natadola Bay Championship Golf Course

Natadola Bay Championship Golf Course

Every year Fiji welcomes the much-anticipated Fiji International PGA golf tournament to our home adjacent to the Natadola Bay Championship Gold Course, on Fiji’s majestic Coral Coast stretch. This renown sporting event hosts an impressive field of the world’s best players. Including; three- time Major champion and local Fijian hero Mr Vijay Singh.

The atmosphere at Natadola Bay Par 72 Championship golf course throughout the PGA tournament is both buzzing and welcoming for all attendees. Spectators and players alike are guaranteed a truly memorable time in Fiji!

FYI: During my holiday here I decided to tee off the back nine to test my (admittedly rusty) drive and putting skills during a quiet day on the green – which was both a challenging and a rewarding experience! Afterwards it was straight to the Natadola Bay Golf Club to enjoy a few cold ales and that sprawling Pacific Ocean view.

Elegant Accommodation Options

Without a doubt a holiday at the InterContinental Fiji Resort & Spa will be nothing short of spectacular. There’s ocean front suites and spacious garden view rooms all furnished immaculately.  It’s true – an unforgettable holiday experience awaits you here.

Superbly located directly on picturesque Natadola Beach this resort is world-class example of vacation luxury. Stylish guest rooms showcase contemporary Pacific Island design at its best. The resort rooms are superbly appointed and feature generous private terraces or balconies with the day beds and private Cleopatra-style baths.

Garden View Rooms set amongst tropical gardens are luxuriously spacious at 63m2 and all feature a private terrace or balcony, day bed and outdoor Cleopatra-style bath.

Pool View Rooms overlook the family activity resort pool, these rooms are centrally located in the heart of the resort. With an identical configuration to the garden view rooms, these rooms are a top choice for small families and couples.

Lagoon View Rooms & Suites located at the secluded end of the resort with views over Natadola lagoon and Navo island are 32 Lagoon View Rooms and Suites with king-size beds. The suites feature separate bedroom and living areas whilst the Lagoon View Rooms have the same configuration as the Garden View Rooms.

Beachfront View Rooms & Suites

Lucky me! I booked well ahead to secure a luxury Beachfront Suite just steps away from the world-famous beach. The Beachfront Suites glow with natural light and super luxe modern yet Fijian-inspired designs. I really liked having separate bedroom and living areas and a semi-outdoor Cleopatra style bath tub by the sea. My sleep in the opulent king size bed was absolutely heavenly.

Plus, the suite was very private – even though the resort is quite large I found my holiday zone remained a peaceful home away from home. Unfortunately I was only able to stay a few days but cannot wait to return for at least a week

InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort & Spa - Navo Beachfront

Resort Dining

Navo is the InterContinental Fiji’s award-winning signature restaurant Navo. Led by esteemed Australian Executive Chef David Bell, the menu here is the perfect blend of native flavours, fresh local produce, pacific rim cuisine and modern fine dining. Other resort dining options include casual yet chic beachside restaurants, stylish open air sports bars and kid friendly eateries.

Hint: the breakfast buffet here is one of the most decadent spreads I have ever seen. And yes, I did abundant quality control research ;) as my post-holiday belly will attest.

Diving Overview

The diving in and around Natadola is spectacular and diverse. With no fewer than 15 dive sites located all within a 5 minute boat-ride we’re a little spoiled for choice. Vast coral plateaus right the way through to sheer walls means that we have something to cater for everyone. The conditions are usually not far from ideal. Warm, clear waters make for very easy diving. You’ll soon see how Fiji earned its reputation for being the ‘Soft Coral Capital of the World’.

Day Spa Delights

Secluded by evocative water features and frangipani gardens ‘Spa InterContinental’ is a haven of relaxation. Its modern and traditional treatments often utilize indigenous plants and herbs that have been used to heal for generations. This zen like zone was my daily post surf or snorkel go to – I loved how the spa treatment menu differed to include a blend of Eastern, Western and traditional Fijian healing philosophies and methods. Of course, guests are welcome to request a decadent massage in a cabana by the sand (pictured) too.

Family Friendly Fiji

Come one, come all. Kids are guaranteed to have an absolute ball here. There’s fun filled family time to be had at the expansive aquatic oasis aka the 100m kids pool which has plenty of shallow areas and water fountain zones to entertain the younger guests. Planet Trekkers is the InterContinental’s awesome Kids Club, it’s open to ages 4 -12 and features loads of interactive experiences. Plus, activities that foster environmentally awareness, with particular emphasis on marine conservation. Note: children under 4 may also attend Planet Trekkers but must be in the company of a friendly and professional resort nanny.

Choose a holiday here and you’ve effectively transported yourself to one of the most magnificent retreats in the entire South Pacific. Unwind in the opulent beachfront suites, swim in the lovely sea, snorkel and surf the nearby coral reefs and feast at one of many enticing eateries. Perhaps you’re more inclined to work out at the excellent 24 hour fitness centre then simply lounge about poolside. Whatever your holiday style, the InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort and Spa will surely surpass all of your expectations and then some.
